Just got through reading this article, and I thought I would link to it both for the enjoyment of (some of) my readers, and as a way to remind myself to try the recipe which comes at the end of the article. It's an oldie but a goodie by Peter Singer.

Interesting side-note: Regarding Buddhism, The Buddha said that following the Eight-Fold Path would in itself lead to vegetarianism. He never said anything regarding the moral status of eating meat, only that it is a natural conclusion of the Buddhist lifestyle.
